2016 Physician Quality Reporting System Reports Available

Physicians should review reports to know whether they are subject to 2018 PQRS payment adjustment

MONDAY, Oct. 9, 2017 (HealthDay News) — The 2016 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and the 2016 annual Quality and Resource Use reports have been released for individuals and group practices, according to a report published by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Physicians can gain access to their reports through the Enterprise Portal of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Reviewing their reports will allow physicians to know whether they will be subject to the 2018 PQRS downward payment adjustment and inform practices of their value-based payment modifier adjustments for 2018.

Physicians can request an informal review of their 2016 PQRS results and/or the 2018 value-based payment modifier calculation if they perceive that their payment adjustment status reflects an error. The informal review period is currently open and will be available until Dec. 1.

“Physicians should also consider the information contained in their reports as a guide that will help them prepare for participation in the Merit-based Incentive Payment Program — one of two paths available to physicians under the new Quality Payment Program,” according to the report.
